Teaching Approach

I have studied language by both methodical study over a long period of time, as well as quickly in immersion settings within the country where that language is spoken and am capable of using either or both approaches. I have a full range of written materials to accompany all teaching sessions. Audio recordings are also available.

Program Description

I teach Danish to beginning, intermediate, and advanced students in the United States. Sessions are held at the student's home or another public place like Starbucks.

Teaching Experience

I was a secondary education major during the early 1970's. I have taught for the Extension Program of the University of California at Los Angeles (faux finishes and gilding), as well as for chapters of the National Society of Tole & Decorative Painters across the United States and for private business in both Spain and Argentina where written and oral presentations were all performed in Spanish. I was the only North American teacher with the National Society of Tole & Decorative Painters who taught in Spanish, as well as English.

Teacher Training

I was a secondary education major at West Texas State University in Texas prior to moving to California in 1972. Although I later on decided not to teach in a public secondary school and went into business instead, my earlier training stayed with me.

I taught for 9 months at UCLA Extension as part of their Interior Design Program in the late 1980's and then all across the United States as a travel teacher with the National Society of Tole & Decorative Painters. I have also conducted product demonstration s at national and international conventions.

Frequently Asked Questions

A student can sign up for as many or as few lessons as he or she deems appropriate. I teach primarily in two-hour sessions and can teach multiple sessions per week.

Written material always accompanies my lessons.

I also provide the student with free copies of all available textbooks, dictionaries, and or grammar books. This is done in digital form.
