Level 2: French Beginner 2 (Français Débutant 2)
At this level, you will use all concepts you learned in previous level (beginner one). At this stage will you be exposed to different activities of comprehension and self-expressi on to maintain and develop your skill level, to improve your vocabulary, grammar, and your ability to communicate and to present yourself verbally and in writing.
Exp ectation: at the end of this class you will have the ability to use familiar expressions to express yourself and describe your immediate environment. For example you will be able to order a nice meal, including asking about the ingredients of your menu choices and where they come from. Ask and answer simple questions in any open and close conversation, etc. You will be able to interact in a simple way using sentences and paragraphs.
Speaking Interaction: at this level you will be able to communicate with more than one person at a time, to ask and answer simple questions, and to handle a simple open conversation
Speaking Production: at this level you will be able to use simple phrases and sentences to describe what you desire, what you want and like to do, and to talk about your habits
Liste ning: you will be able to understand simple speech, dialogue and conversation with simple speaking speed which involves more than one person. You will be able to distinguish familiar, and some unfamiliar vocabulary and expression concerning yourself, your family, and daily events.
Read ing: you will be able to understand basic texts, for example simple notes, touristic catalog, menu cards and different signage, and to pick up unfamiliar words and different tenses.
Writ ing: at this level, you will be able to write simple note and memo, for example leaving a note to a friend or/and coworker, writing an Email and posting on social media.
Gramm ar: French beginner 2 will introduce students to the past tense (passé compose), use of the auxiliaries, more French vocabulary (office supplies, animals, toiletries…et c), semi auxiliaries verbs, reflexive verbs, define and undefined articles, indirect object pronouns, negation and affirmation, the prepositions "dans" ("in") and "sur" ("on").
