G et Skype Step 1 – Establish Skype Service
Yo u will need access to a functioning headset and a Skype account. Skype is the most widely used VoIP service and is free. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with how Skype works – the service is user-friendly and will give a chance to test your headset.
R egister Step 2 – Register with TLC
You must register with TLC. During your registration, you will be asked to provide some basic information. Registration is free and implies no financial commitment on your behalf.
Sc hedule Spanish Lesson Step 3 – Schedule a Lesson
Onc e registered, you will have the ability to view the availability of lessons and choose a time you find suitable.
Connect with Tutor Step 4 – Connect with your Private Tutor
Prio r to the start of your lesson, you must log onto Skype. If you are unfamiliar with this service, it is recommended that you log on 10 minutes prior to your scheduled lesson.
Enjo y your Lesson Step 5 – Enjoy your Lesson
The student and teacher conduct the lesson, with focus on conversation and the personal learning objectives indicated by each student. As much as possible, instructors attempt to conduct lessons in Spanish. This is a key fact of immersion-sty le learning. It may seem frustrating at first, but students learn to adjust quickly and find that this approach greatly enhances the learning experience.

Al l our Spanish courses are aligned to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR). The CEFR is a guideline consisting of “CAN DO” statements which describe what learners should be able to do at each level in: • Reading Spanish • Listening to Spanish • Speaking in Spanish • Writing in Spanish The CEFR divides learners in to three main groups: A: Basic User A1: Beginner A2: Elementary B: Independent User B1: Intermediate B2: Upper Intermediate C: Proficient User C1: Advanced C2: Proficiency
