I focus my teaching towards conversation. Therefore my lesson starts with simple sentences rather than letters, then build on to that. Based on student's goal or purpose of learning, I teach on not teach them reading writing. Being Nepali is phonetic language, being able to read and write is big help towards learn to speak.

I used to train American Peace Corps volunteers Nepali language. I develop my own lesson plan customized to a stude's need and student's pace. I do use several books as references.

Teaching Experience

I taught American Peace Corps volunteers in Nepal for five years. During same time period, I taught Neapli and Newari languages to many visiting scholars, diplomats, and professionals working in Nepal.
Since I migrated to USA, I have provided language training in small group setting as well as provided individual lessons to many.

I have teaching credential (BA in Education); I was a school teacher before start teaching for Peace Corps. I used to own an organization that provided language training as well as research help.
In addition, I used to run volunteer literacy projects for homeless migrants from villages.
