Ph.D. in the Optimization of Carbon Nanotubes Production via Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD)
- Investigation of the influence of catalytic and reaction parameters (catalyst development procedure, catalyst composition, reaction temperature, feed gas composition) on the rate of growth and quality of Carbon Nanotubes via Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) of various hydrocarbons
- Deposition experiments were carried out in a thermogravime tric hot-wall reactor, which enables continuous monitoring of the evolution of the deposited carbon mass with time.
- Characterizat ion of the developed catalytic materials and the products of the deposition using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Raman spectroscopy, Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Thermo-Gravim etric Analysis (TG/DTA) , X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), BET method and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS)
- Mass spectroscopic study of the heterogeneous ly catalysed CVD reaction as a way to determine the chemical reactions that take place on the catalytic materials
- Development of a super-efficie nt bimetallic catalyst, consisted of nickel, iron and alumina
