Teaching Approach

We work with the students to define their language objectives. We offer two streams: Stream 1 is more casual conversationa l Amharic, learning phrases and conversation for tourists and people who visit for work. Stream 2 (also used in the classes) for learning Amharic in UK involves learning to read and write feedels (Ethiopia Ge'ez letters), deeper understanding of Amharic grammar and more depth on Amharic culture - all at the beginners' level. These students are better placed to advance to Intermediate I & II levels. We have also taught specialized subjects such as Amharic poetry for advanced students.

Program Description

We offer regular weekly classes for people who want to Learn Amharic in London. Our classes are in a series of 10 lessons that run from 6:30pm to 8:30pm and our venue is central London, near Kings Cross. Our current series, starting Monday 1 June and running until Monday 3 August, is a BEGINNERS' class. We are also planning to offer INTERMEDIATE I & II classes for some of our former students and people with some Amharic who are joining us.
In addition, we offer 1-on-1 lessons in central London with a dedicated and experienced teacher. The time and place is arranged between the student and the teacher. We prefer to teach face to face, but we are also teaching via Skype for people outside London.

Teaching Experience

We have experienced tutors including those who teach languages professionall y and have studied for further education qualification s. We also use experienced teachers that meet our standards and we work to train them further so that our students should be happy with their lessons and their progress.

We do weekly classes in a series of 10 classes on weekday evenings in central London. Our current classes (from 1 June 2015) run on Mondays 6:30-8:30pm. We also offer 1-to-1 classes in central London at a schedule to be agreed with your tutor.
