The method and techniques I apply is based on the belief that language is basically a means of communication . Then, learning a language is learning to communicate using the language. Consequently, the materials and the activities are designed as and for real communication . I help the learners to identify concepts and expressions. Learners are then able to identify how the sentences in Indonesian language are usually constructed. Along with their developed vocabulary, learners will be able to construct their own sentences in conversation and able to speak as naturally as Indonesian people do.

This course will equip you with basic competence in the Indonesian language, so you can actively engage and take part in simple conversations and discussions on common topics in your daily activities at home, at the market, at school, or at work. You will explore a variety of everyday topics and simple language functions such as greetings, names, introductions , and learn other essential words and phrases. This course covers basic sentence patterns and simple reading and writing of short paragraphs as well as descriptive and narrative compositions.

I have a combined 10 years of experience teaching Indonesian for expatriates in Jakarta ranging from NGO workers, business executives, exchange students, international school teachers, tourists, etc.

Teacher Training

I earned a BA in English linguistics and literature from Soegijapranat a Catholic University in Semarang, Central Java. I have a good command in English, both written and spoken, and native proficiency in Indonesian. I have been trained to deliver effective and efficient teaching, evaluate student progress and guide them through the entire process of learning.

My schedule isn't fixed, I'm happy to work around your schedule at your best convenience. I prefer to be paid in cash after each lesson. I have also work as tour guide in Jakarta so I am familiar with many of the cultural nuance and social context most expatriate find tricky and confusing when learning Indonesian.
