    My educational and professional background is in African Studies and African Languages and Cultures. I hold Bachelor’s and Masters degrees in African Studies from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies and a Teaching Languages of the Wider World Certificate.


    Program Description


    I am trained to use the latest language sampling software like Audacity and have combined video and conversation recordings in my teaching. I am also confident with use of Web 2:0 technologies like Elluminate and Skype as well as Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) applications such as Moodle and Blackboard. On top of this, I can use e-Pen for confidential online exam marking. My lessons include internet accessibility and face to face interactions; outside of the classroom I encourage online forums for discussions.


    Teaching Experience


    My educational and professional background is in African Studies and African Languages and Cultures. I hold Bachelor’s and Masters degrees in African Studies from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies. I was a lecturer in Swahili Grammar (for both undergrads and postgrads) at University level for a year. But I have also taught at primary level and set international exams. I love teaching Swahili at any level and to any nationalities .
