Teaching Approach
The appraoch is quite flexible and changes during the teaching period. I usually take time each month (in a one year teaching period)to talk about the teaching/lear ning process: what did you prefer? what did you not like? How can we make it better for you? It often helps students to understand their own learning process.

Program Description
I have been teaching very different publics, from helping pupils in their school-learni ng process (whether French or Italian) to teaching French to a group of Malian migrants just arrived in France.
For school pupils, I usaully adapt my teaching to the school programm. If parents come to me for their children need help in learning French or Italian, I try my best to make them like the language they are studying, especially if they have difficulties because they don't like their teacher (it can happen!), or because they feel not confident enough. So I work with various material: music, with lyrics they have to find by listening the song; conversation around articles about topics that children choose, it might be easier for them to talk about something they are passionated about!
For migrants, I tend to be more pragmatic, for they need to speak the language in their daily life. One of the most common activities is to create a situation ( you are at the post office you want to send a registered letter; you have an interview for a job, the interviewer asks you why do you think you would be good at the post you are applying for...)and work their speaking level. Also, I worked on job profile with migrants class: if we choose waiter as a job, we work on all the words they will need to work as a waiter.
