    Teaching Experience

I was teaching Spanish as a second language as a private tutor and I have experience teaching all levels of Spanish for students with different nationalities (Polish, Hungarians, Germans, Italians, Belgians and Arabs) and interests. I’ve also experience like a language assistant in the University of Saint Louis (Brussels). In this university I taught from A2 till B2 levels and I did a lot of activities related to the current Spanish culture.

T he method that I usually use in my lessons is the communicative method, I like to work with manuals because is important for the students to have a reference book, but I think that is necessary to have a complementary materials, and for this reason, I like to prepare my own exercises where I put into practice all the skills (writing, listening, reading, speaking) and, with this pretext, I teach also things about the Hispanic culture.

    Teacher Training

I’ve an University Degree in Hispanic Philology and a Master Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language.
Over the past five years, I have studied issues relating to: Hispanic Literature (both Spanish and Latin American and dating from the Middle Ages through to the present day); Spanish language (studying, both diachronicall y and synchronicall y, disciplines such as morphology, phonetics, phonology, syntax, etymology, and dialectology, the latter including an analysis of both Peninsular and Latin American varieties of Spanish); and linguistics (the history of linguistics, the various theories about the origins of the language, different schools of thought).

The intellectual area in which I am most interested and have specialized is the Spanish language. This interest led me to work in 2010 with Professor Inés Fernández-Ord óñez, member of the Real Academia de la Lengua Española (Royal Academy of the Spanish Language), in the development of the COSER (Corpus Oral y Sonoro del Español Rural: Oral and Sound Corpus of Rural Spanish) programme in the area of Badajoz (Extremadura) . This programme involves a series of semi-structur ed interviews with elderly, often illiterate people from a rural setting with the purpose of creating a linguistic map of the diverse varieties of spoken Peninsular Spanish. The surveys carried out by COSER provide a picture of the state of the language in the present day and also create a point of comparison with the tools that have been used in the past. . In addition to this, I also carried out an analysis of the specific characteristi cs of the Spanish used in the Andean region of Ecuador for Professor Azucena Palacios Alcaine of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Autonomous University of Madrid), and, in 2011, I completed an etymological study of the origins of words relating to gastronomy in the Iberian Peninsula.
Being an enquiring and curious person means that I am very interested in other cultures and places and that I have always tried to take advantage of exchanges between universities to complete and improve my education. In this sense, I have enjoyed a Sicue-Séneca scholarship in the Autonomous University of Madrid and an Erasmus scholarship in Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest (Hungary), achieving first place in both competitions.

I have written up my dissertation on “The treatment of demonstrative s in different types of Spanish and Italian grammar books, from general grammars to pedagogic and comparative ones”, under the supervision of Professor Manuel Carrera Díaz.

I am bilingual in Spanish and Italian, have passed the fourth year examination (C1 level) in Portuguese at the Language Institute at the University of Seville, and have an intermediate level of English.

I n addition to this, I've done many courses in Several Institutos Cervantes: I've the certificate for the DELE examiner (B1-B2 Level), by the Instituto Cervantes of Budapest. Ellos sin especiales: Enseñanza de ELE para niños, by the Instituto Cervantes of Budapest, and Tareas y actividad colavorativa en contextos digitales, by the Instituto Cervantes of Brussels.
