Teaching Approach

Our approach will be based on the personal goals identified by an individual student. I create personalized exercises and tasks to develop proper grammar and communication al skills. I understand that each person has different skills so my approach is flexible and I am patient as you learn a difficult new language. Most of my students who are learning English call me on Skype early in my morning and most students learning Russian call me on Skype in the evening.

Program Description

For most students, I send by email some homework that the student works with in advance of our lesson. For more advanced students, I have a text-book that most students enjoy and I send an appropriate selection as homework. During the lesson, we practice what we learned last session and then move to review the new materials. Each student gets a personalized lesson and homework designed for that student's level, personality, and needs.

Teaching Experience

Advanced degree from University in Kaliningrad, Russia. In Russia I tutored students in the English language since 1999.

In my seven years living in the USA, I continue to teach Russian students via Skype to read, write, and speak English. I have been teaching Russian language to American students since 2006.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is your schedule?
A. I am in the Mountain Time Zone in Idaho. I will adjust my schedule to meet the student's needs.

Q. How do you expect to be paid?
A. I use PayPal and appreciate having the student pay regularly every two weeks. If you do not have a PayPal account, we can make arrangements for Western Union and generally the student then pays in advance.

Q . How long have you been teaching conversationa l language skills?
A. Since 1999 I have been teaching English to Russians and since 2006 I have been teaching Russian to English-Speak ing students in the US.

Q. Will I have to do homework?
A. Each student will tell me whether she/he wants exercises sent by email. For conversationa l language, you will have some phrases that you should practice so when next we meet, you and I can exchange pleasantries and I can hear you speak the Russian phrase we learned at last lesson. If a student wants some written homework, I can prepare and send a lesson by email.

Cost of Lessons

Sending written homework designed for the student plus each thirty minute Skype lesson is $15; a one hour lesson plus homework is $24. Other arrangments may be made to meet the student's needs.
