Teaching Approach

Ritengo che l'approccio dipenda molto dal tipo di studente. In primo luogo cerca di capire quali siano le necessità e le difficoltà dello studente e poi, in base a questo, stabilisco in che modo procedere. Mi piace inoltre immergere lo studente in ogni tipo di risorsa visiva, audio e non solo cartacea che possa metterlo direttamente a contatto con la lingua.

Program Description

Il programma dipende da cosa mi è richiesto di insegnare. Se si tratta di argomenti collegati alla grammatica, in genere preferisco spiegare brevemente la regola con alcuni esempi pratici e poi passare direttamente agli esercizi. In questo modo gli studenti possono sia mettere immediatament e in pratica la regola, sia ricavare dagli esercizi stessi eventuali eccezioni alla regola stessa. Se invece si tratta di aiutare lo studente con la conversazione , in genere prediligo argomenti legati alla vita di tutti i giorni (descrivere una vacanze, un libro o un film appena visto).

Ho conseguito un PhD in Italia in "Civiltà dell'Umanesim o e del Rinascimento" . Sto attualmente conseguendo il mio secondo PhD presso l'Università di Yale dove ho avuto modo di seguire nel Fall 2011 un workshop sull'insegnam ento delle lingue straniere agli studenti americani.
