My approach depends on your aims. There are basically three ways:
1)Re ading - Analysis - Discussion:
I will find (or write)and send you an article which you must read in your own time. After going through all the questions yourself, you can email your responses to me for checking. We then book a lesson to discuss your answers and any problems you had...
2) Listening & Speaking:
Th is is purely for conversation and fluency practice. Obviously, there is no speaking development without first developing listening skills! But it is important to build your confidence and not to worry (too much) about grammar!
3 )Writing Practice:
Pr actice makes perfect (eventually!) Unfortunately there is no easy way to develop your writing skills, but it pays dividends, as it consolidates your other skills too!
There are three types of writing to choose from:
a) Creative Writing Tasks (such as notes, postcards and stories).
b) Business Writing Tasks (such as letters, reports and data analysis).
c ) Academic Writing Tasks (such as essays, theses and critiques).
Whatever you choose to learn - that is what we will concentrate on!

Program Description

My lessons are very conventional, but effective. I will bring my twenty years experience to bear on the task of helping you to actually learn something every minute of every hour that I teach. You - as a student - must know what your aims are, and I will produce clear, concise and useful notes or articles for you to study. We can then discuss all the issues of meaning,gramm ar and pronunciation that come up in subsequent lessons. I don't want to waste your time or take your money for nothing!

Teaching Experience

I have been teaching English as a Foreign Language since 1989. I started as an ESL assistant on an Outreach Propgram in the UK, then I became a fully qualified EFL teacher in 1990. I have taught everything from basic literacy to University level Proficiency. My favourite subject is English! I love teaching and I love students who love learning. I am dedicated to this profession, and to the mission of positive re-inforcemen t!

I took the TEFL course in 1990 at Stanton School in London. I took a preparatory Diploma Course in 1992 and I am currently planning to take the third part of the DELTA qualification .
I am a member of the British Council and a contributor to the 2011 Blogathon and Fanstory websites.
I have just joined Language-Scho ol-Teachers.co m - but I have been teaching English for over twenty years.

I can teach at any time between 10.00am and 8.00pm GMT.
I prefer to be paid by direct bank transfer, but I have set up a PayPal account.
I will offer discounts for weekly block bookings.(For example 10 hours per week gives a 10% discount, so instead of paying $200 per week - you only pay $180.)
I will adapt my lessons, times and style to suit the student, but I will not refund money for lessons cancelled less than 24 hours beforehand, or unscheduled no-shows! Full refunds or Replacements of lessons cancelled WITH enough notice.
