I am an experienced English teacher specialized in Italian, French, Romanian, ESL / American-Engl ish language and cultural studies, and European Studies, with over 23 years of teaching experience in the United States and Europe. I have taught American diplomats in Washington DC, as well as numerous private students in Dallas-Fort Worth where I run a successful language training firm.
Being a European-born American now speaking English, French, Italian, and Romanian at a native level (after a lifetime of study), I am in the position to provide methods and linguistic “shortcuts” that can be easily grasped by foreign learners. All exercises and information are specifically adapted to each student’s needs. We use extensive country-speci fic TV sources, role playing, literature, college tests, and field trips in our classes designed for beginner-thro ugh-advanced levels.
My classes are very intensive; generally you will see results and you will be able to understand a complex text after the first 2-h lesson. Immersion programs are also available involving exercises based on American films, TV news and documentaries , media and literature. Each course will be adjusted to fit your personal interest, whether you aim for professional vocabulary, comprehensive conversationa l skills, sophisticated speech, academic achievement, or other language/cult ural goals.
Fees are based on program selection and student’s individual case (e.g. program complexity, commute requirement, length of program).
Schedules are also flexible and you’ll make up for all missed classes at your convenience.
All materials are usually included as part of the course, or may be based on the student’s requirements.
In my firm I also teach Italian, French and Romanian beginner-thro ugh-advanced levels. As mentioned in the testimonials posted on my website, I have had contracts with private individuals and firms and have taught adult students (diplomats), as well as children over the age of 5 and teenagers.

IF YOU SEARCH IN-PERSON TUTORING PLEASE NOTE I COVER DALLAS-FORT WORTH / TEXAS USA
I provide 2 programs: a standard language training program (used by most schools and teachers), and a "language immersion" intensive program (used to train diplomats in special language schools). Both programs have been adjusted to respond to diverse students' goals: beginner - advanced, children and adults, travel-orient ed persons looking to learn fast the language of countries they are about to visit. I have also taught classes with a professional focus: oil & finance, business, legal, media, medicine & biology, and literary translation. For the language immersion courses, I use individualize d linguistic, visual, musical, and literary/arti stic techniques geared at providing the student with a genuine "language immersion" environment for fast and accurate results. The standard program is highly interactive and it employs traditional teaching techniques: manual-based exercises and practice through role playing and frequent testing. Additionally, I offer a 2-4 month English course designed for Spanish speakers (it provides comparative Spanish/Engli sh instruction); and a special European Studies course for professionals or occasional travellers to Europe.

Teacher/tutor/ translator at private schools and at the Open University Business School (UK-Rom.), and at Inlingua School USA (trained diplomats, Washington DC and VA). I have also published translations of American and British novels and management books, and provided simultaneous interpreting for governmental organizations in Washington DC.

Q. What other relevant experience makes you a more effective teacher?
A. My "language immersion" method differs substantially from standard teaching methods because it emulates the fast-paced programs I used when I trained and tested US diplomats. Also my personal background helps: I am trained in English/philo logy (linguistic science) and have gone myself through the experience of learning 4 of the foreign languages I teach... which means I can often explain learning "routes" to my students that native language teachers may overlook. I was trained in program planning, have published related works, and have a true passion for teaching. My diction is native-like and very clear (I provided simultaneous interpreting at international conferences in Washington DC).

A. My training style is relaxed, fun, but comprehensive , for stress-free learning.
