Teaching Approach

I use Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) as well as Content-Langu age Integrated Learning (CLIL). So students learn language for communication and they communicate for learning these languages. All learning activities are communicative . They will learn many things while learning languages. It means that they do one and got many (language and knowledge. I also use Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL)so learners can express their opinion based on their daily life.

Program Description

My lesson is full conversation for beginner of Arabic, English and Bahasa Indonesia. I will teach students Arabic, English or Bahasa Indonesia for communicative purposes and students should communicate to learn these languages.

Teaching Experience

I have been teaching Arabic since 1993 in my university. I also teach English here. I teach English at LIA Pekanbaru from 1995 to 1999.

Teacher Training

I got my BA in Arabic in 1989 and went for a MA Degree in Arabic at Leeds University, UK, and completed in 1992.

I followed special training for teachers of English at LIA Pekanbaru for one and half month. in 2008 I followed CLT training from IALF Surabaya for one month, in which we were trained how to teach both receptive and productive skill.

At my university we conduct group of teachers of English and Arabic. We meet regularly to discuss our weakness and strength in teaching for sharing experience to develop our profession as the foreign language teachers.
