All my one to one lessons are specifically tailored to an individual students needs, therefore every course will be different. Courses can be designed to concentrate on areas of weakness in the language or areas of particular importance, for example for a student's job requirements. I understand how difficult and frustrating learning a language can be, and therefore I like to create an environment that enables a student to use the language confidently through support and encouragement . I also like to encourage students to continue learning after the course has finished and will help them to discover the best way for them, individually to achieve this.
My Skype lessons often focus on improving speaking ability and listening comprehension and can be particularly helpful in assisting students to prepare for a special event such as a business presentation or meeting.
The group lessons are designed depending on the age and requirements of the group, but will always be stimulating and require interaction between students themselves and the teacher. Materials will also be carefully selected to stimulate and maintain motivation throughout the lesson.

Program Description

I offer homestay language courses where students come and stay with myself and my family in our home on the beautiful Mediterranean island of Gozo. I am fully qualified to teach English and can offer general, business, medical or exam preparation courses to all levels of learners. The students are able to experience total immersion in the English language because all my family are native English speakers, originally coming from the UK. I also offer one to one lessons only (without accommodation ) and will travel to the students accommodation in Gozo or Malta if requested. All my lessons are tailor made for the individual students personal needs, therefore we will be able to focus on any area of the language or skills.
I am also happy to conduct lessons via skype and have extensive experience teaching general and business English using this method.
In addition, I can offer group lessons to a maximum of 10 students staying in holiday accommodation .

I have been teaching English as a foreign language for six years, at all levels from beginner to advanced.
I have a good deal of experience teaching general, medical and business English and also exam preparation courses including IELTS, TOEFL and Cambridge exams.
I have taught face to face groups and individuals, and also one to one via Skype.

What is your teaching schedule?
I arrange my lessons around individual students, so I can give a lesson at any time.
What is your payment policy?
In the case of a homestay course I ask for 150 euros deposit to secure the room and dates and the balance of payment on completion of the course. For lessons only I request payment prior to the completion of the course.
For skype lessons I will invoice students via paypal.
Wh at other relevant experience makes you a more effective teacher?
My experience as a nurse has given me a lot of life experience and skills that I can draw on, such as patience and empathy. I love teaching and put great pride and effort into helping my students to achieve the results they need.
Do you teach children?
Ye s, both individuals and small groups.
Wh at will I study on the course?
I will tailor make your course to suit your needs so, for example you may wish to combine some general and business English or have a grammar refresher course followed by exam preparation.
However, if you want just a general course to improve in all areas of the language I can assess your current level and design the course accordingly.

Cost of Lessons

25 Euros for sixty minutes one to one lessons. This includes all relevant material.
