Learning Russian as a foreign language can be challenging. It requires motivation and considerable effort and dedication. Our philosophy is to keep our lessons interesting and fun at all times. We assign great importance to both written and oral communication skills, which are taught by our native Russian speakers.

Program Description

|
Our program consists of the following Russian courses: a ‘crash’ course for tourists planning to visit Russia, Russian for beginners, Advanced Russian, Business Russian and Russian for Children.
Russian for Tourists: This is a comprehensive course that will enable students to learn the most basic vocabulary and grammar in a short period of time in order for them to make it possible to find their way in Russia during their visit. During this course, we will not only teach our students to communicate in Russian but we will discuss the Russian culture and provide them with useful information to make their stay in Russia as easy and enjoyable as possible.
Russian for Beginners: This course covers important vocabulary and grammatical rules, simple phrases and sentences, which will help the student communicate with Russian speakers.
Elementary Russian: This course introduces more advanced grammatical rules and vocabulary skills by using elementary vocabulary.
Pre-Interme diate Russian: During this course, students will learn to apply their newly acquired vocabulary in different situations such as at the bank or at the store to enhance their knowledge of Russian language.
Intermediat e Russian: This course focuses on more difficult expressions in the Russian language and overall grammatical improvement. Students will be required to read and discuss current affairs, for example, the news to expand their vocabulary.
Advanced Russian: This course aims to help students achieve proficiency in communicating in Russian in addition to applying the correct grammar. Students will be introduced to Russian literature at this level.
Business Russian: Students who have successfully completed the Elementary Russian course, can progress to this level and concentrate on Business Russian. Students are welcome to discuss their personal requirements with us and we will tailor this course to suit your business needs.
Russian for children: Children of Russian expat parents who live in South Africa, seldom speak Russian as their first language and sometimes refuse to learn it. The mastering of the Russian language, unlike in Russia, does not happen automatically for Russian expat children. Children who are not in predominantly Russian speaking countries, might speak the language to an acceptable level but they do not know why certain grammatical rules must be applied. Children primarily speak English in South African schools and lose the feeling for the Russian language. Often, it is not enough for Russian parents to speak Russian to their children at home and additional lessons become essential because children need to understand the rules of the language such as why verbs must change from one sentence to another. During this course, we will explain the grammar, logic and the structure of the Russian language, explain how to build correct sentences, how to use the correct verbs and why to apply one or another case or preposition. We will keep your children busy and interested in our lessons by playing games, reading books, singing Russian songs and talking about the Russian culture. All children 3 years and older are welcome to join.
The German courses are structured in a similar way. Even though German is not my native language, I handle it on a high level, since I have studied and lived in Germany for 7 years.
