My teaching method utilizes a combination of exercise drills, games, videos and other activities tailored to the desires of the student. Games and roll play activities help the student master the spoken language, while homework and classwork exercise drills provide grammatical knowledge.
The curriculum is designed to engage the student in the language. Language learning can be both enjoyable and academically rigorous at the same time.

Program Description

I create programs specially tailored to the needs of my students. I teach basic Hebrew pronunciation and grammar, prayer reading, chanting, and translation (including Bar and Bat-Mitzvah preparation), and conversationa l Hebrew.

I have taught as a Hebrew School teacher (4th-7th grades) for 3 years, and as a private tutor (all ages) for 5 years.

I completed Hebrew University's Ulpan program through level Daled.
I hold a BA in Jewish Studies from UCLA where I completed six Hebrew courses, including two in conversationa l Hebrew.
I am a certified Hebrew teacher by the Bureau of Jewish Education in Los Angeles.

Payment is required after each lesson, though special arrangements can me made on a case by case basis. Check or cash only.
Othe r relevant experiences include recent work with inner city elementary and middle school students as part of "DC Teach Kids Peace"-- an interactive workshop on conflict resolution. I have also taught Hebrew School courses on Judaism (prayers, holidays, history, religion and culture) and Israel (geography, history, culture, and politics).
