Teaching Approach

The best approach is complete immersion. However,in the absence of this, the most effective method of language acquisition involves as much exposure to native language speakers in authentic social settings that require one to use those language skills he or she is interested in pursuing.

Program Description

I have been a certificated teacher in Maryland for 23 years. I am a native speaker of Lebanese and Syrian Arabic. My forte is conversationa l Arabic, but I can help students with rudementary grammar, reading, and writing.

Teaching Experience

I have taught English as a foreign language for 3 years as well as Language Arts and Reading to American public schools students for 23 years. My knowledge of Arabic is first hand cultural exposure, I was born and grew up in Syria, and moved to Lebanon where I lived for sixteen years.

Teacher Training

B.A. in English Literature and Teaching Certificate from the American University of Beirut.
M.A. in Secondary Education from Bowie State University, Maryland.
Ce rtificate in Library Media from Notre Dame University of Maryland.

Depends on number of students interested in attending. Anywhere from between $10-$40.
