My passion for teaching comes from my own love for languages. Being a language learner myself gives me valuable tools for my profession.
I use a balanced teaching approach that combines a number of techniques and strategies, always with a great emphasis on communication. I believe each student is unique in their goals, personality and learning style, so there is not one single method applicable to all.
My teaching philosophy is to create a comfortable yet challenging learning environment where you can build skills, boost your confidence and achieve your Spanish goals.
When teaching I rely on patience, enthusiasm and a strong desire to inspire and motivate my students. My goal is for you look forward to our lessons together, have consistent progress in your Spanish and connect with the culture of those who speak it.

Program Description

My lessons are structured following the Common European Framework of Reference and thoughtfully planned to meet your goals.
Lessons range from beginner to advanced levels and have a strong focus on communication. They include conversation, vocabulary building, sentence structure and practical real-life scenarios.
I create my own material from authentic and engaging resources: Netflix, YouTube, podcasts, songs and even social media. I also take into account your own interests and hobbies to include in the lesson planning. All this material is organized into units.
Occasionally, cultural activities, such as cooking traditional dishes, are incorporated into our lessons. These provide a fun way to experience the culture, practice real-life conversation and learn new vocabulary.

Teaching Experience

I have been tutoring privately for 15+ years, first in Buenos Aires and currently in Canada, where I reside. I am fortunate to have met students from different parts of the world.
I have also experience as an in-company language instructor for small groups and language coordinator at a local language school in Buenos Aires.

|
I am a certified Spanish and English teacher from Buenos Aires, with a university degree in Literary, Scientific and Public Translation and Interpretation as well.
Besides my formal education, I like to keep up to date with new language teaching practices and technology tools to innovate and keep evolving as a teacher.

What are the payment options?
In-person lessons: paid in cash or via e-transfer, weekly or monthly in advance.
Online lessons: paid by e-transfer if you reside in Canada, or PayPal right before lessons. If you wish, you can pay monthly in advance after the first lesson.
These rates include all the material used in class, consolidation activities and material to practice on your own, personalized corrections, and WhatsApp or e-mail support between sessions whenever you need it. Online lessons also include notes and highlights emailed after every lesson for review.
What is your schedule/availability?
Monday to Friday, with flexibility for different time zones and busy schedules.
What is your cancellation policy?
At least a 24-hour notice required, with the option to reschedule and make up the missed lesson. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged for the full session.
Is there homework assigned?
If you want to make good progress, learning should continue outside of our lessons. I encourage you to practice, review and expose yourself to Spanish on a regular basis. Homework is always available to you. I can provide personalized grammar and vocabulary exercises (answer key for self-correction included). There are also other types of practice at home to keep things interesting and motivating: reading activities on a topic of your choice, watching a movie to later discuss in class, listening to your favorite Spanish songs and podcasts on topics you like and even fun 30-day Spanish Challenges that I created.
How many lessons do you recommend per week?
It depends on your goals, budget and time available. I recommend 2 separate lessons per week of at least 1 hour each, as spaced practice promotes long-term retention. However, 1 hour weekly can also work, provided you practice and review between lessons.

Cost of Lessons

1-on-1 lessons (available in person or online)
1 hour per week: $35
2 hours per week (in 1 session or 2): $30 per hour
Group lessons (only available in person)
2 students: $50 per hour ($25 per student)
3 students: $60 per hour ($20 per student)
Additional hour: $5 per student.
Ratesx are in Canadian dollars. Taxes are included. A receipt will be provided upon payments.
