Teaching Approach

I prefer to teach in an interactive setting encouraging students to practise and develop what they already know in a non-threateni ng friendly environment. In the past I have organised integrated lessons to include reading, writing, listening and speaking as well as introducing spelling games and other activities to encourage confidence and learning.

Program Description

I am a qualified teacher and have been teaching for 15 years in primary schools in England, Hong Kong, Nepal and India as well as teaching ESL adults. Most of the lessons I have are from the resources I have collected over the years. I can speak Bengali, some Nepali, French, Spanish and Polish.
I have usually taught in classes of up to 30 students and tend to teach all subjects when appreopriate.

Teaching Experience

15 years of teaching in schools in England, Nepal, Hong Kong and India. Most of my teaching has been in Hong Kong at an international school where most of the childrens' first language was not English.

What is your teaching schedule?
I am pretty flexible and would be available to teach both during the day and in the evenings. This obviously depends on the number of students I teach.

Wha t is your payment policy?
I have usually been paid cash in hand although whlist working as a class teacher I was paid on a monthly basis directly into my bank. This will all depend on the number of students taking the lessons.

W hat other relevant experience makes you a more effective teacher?
I have been interested in human behaviuor since I completed my first degree and all the work I have carried out since then has involved social work of one type or another. I have worked in 'otdinary' classrooms with 30 plus children at school. I also have experience of working with children with severe behaviour problems teaching sign language and non-verbal communication techniques. I have completed a 12 month counselling course and have worked in many volunteer organisations with people whose needs have far outweighed my own. I also have experience of working in health integrating people back into the community afetr having speant many years in so-called 'asylums' and 'institutes'.
