What I hope for my students to achieve from my class is that they can speak Korean without any help. I always make sure they understand what we are doing 100% throughout the class and they can speak fully without looking at the book. The most helpful way to remember new words and sentences is to talk about one's real, personal life. So, I always try to improvise dialogues to students' real situation.

Program Description

-Kids' classes: I teach alphabets, numbers, colors, etc. by using games and songs.
-Teenager s and adult classes: I mainly use a textbook and additional material that I made. The examples of textbooks are "Sogang Korean", "Yonsei Korean" and "Integrated Korean". When students want, I teach Korean with Korean dramas, news articles, etc.
Beginner Curriculum: (Sogang Korean 1A, 1B) Hangul, Basic Vocab, Present, past and future tense
Inte rmediate Curriculum: (Sogang Korean 2A, 2B) Polite tone, Casual tone
Upper Intermediate Curriculum: (Sogang Korean 3A, 3B) Having conversation in different topics such as shopping, health and school
Adv anced Curriculum: (Yonsei Korean 4 and above) Having conversation freely about more in-depth topics such as life and jobs and more emphasis on advanced vocabulary

Teaching Experience

I have taught Korean for 10 years since 2010.
I have taught kids from 3 to 9 years old who are Korean descendants or adoptees. I have also taught a lot of teenagers and young adults who are interested in Korean culture. Other students I have taught are Korean Americans, Americans who have a Korean spouse or a family member, or who need to speak for business.

I have a Masters degree in English Education and a TESOL certificate. Through these programs, I learned how to teach students a second language effectively.

Q. What's your teaching schedule?
A. I am very flexible with time, so please let me know your available time. Then I will work it out for you.
Q. How do I pay?
A. Online classes can be paid to my Paypal account in advance. Classes in person can be paid by cash or check.
Q. How do we meet for lessons?
A. We will meet on Skype for online lessons. We will meet at a coffee shop that is convenient for both of us for classes in person.
Q. Can I cancel a class or change the time?
A. You have to notify cancellation or time change at least two days in advance for an online class and a week in advance for a meet-up class.
If you cancel or change at the last minute or do not show up for class, the class fee will still be charged as same. If you paid the fee ahead, it means there will be no refund or make-up class. This is a basic courtesy for both of us.
Q. How do I start your lessons?
A. Please send me a message with student's name, age, location, and available time to learn. Then I will contact you as soon as possible.
