My teaching philosophy begins with the student in mind constantly. In the first few classes we will discover the students' particular needs and decide together on what we should focus. My lesson plans are creative, detailed and each lesson will be diverse and varied while we learn through music, legends, traditional stories and cultural histories of Mexico and Spain in particular.

Program Description

Classes will be tailored to the interest and intended focus of the student using songs, stories, grammar, reading, writing, listening and of course speaking with special attention paid to pronunciation .

Teaching Experience

Over the last seven years my experiences have allowed me to combine my passions for teaching, travelling and language acquisition. Through these, I have discovered endless educational opportunities in developing a profound understanding of another culture through its language. I have had the opportunity to teach in a prestigious private high school in Mexico called the Tecnologico de Monterrey and teach all ages from elementary to adults in South Korea, At present I live in Victoria, British Columbia.

With an optimistic, open-minded and an outgoing personality I have come to share this existing passion, energy and excitement with all of the students, teachers and people I encounter as a professional English Instructor. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama Education and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary in the Master of Teaching Program in 2004 and 2006 respectively, thus holding a valid Canadian Teacher Certificate.

The schedule may be compromised and agreed upon with the teacher and student as I am extremely flexible. Unfortunately , I am not available most weekends.

Cost of Lessons

$20.00/hour in my home office location or $140.00 a month for SPANISH classes 2 hours a week.
$30.00/hour or $160.00 a month if travel is necessary to cover cost of transportatio n for SPANISH classes 2 hours a week.
