At the moment I am just beginning to learn Swedish on my own through Internet resources, books, and music but I am finding it quite difficult to progress with regards to writing and speaking without a native speaker to guide me. I suppose I am learning the language because I just like it. I am interested in languages in general (I speak French and study Italian as well), but I really enjoy the tone of Swedish, as well as Swedish culture.
For now I am seeking to improve just about everything, though reading is naturally easier than writing or speaking. I am looking for a teacher who enjoys their subject and who can work with me personally to set up a lesson plan.

My level of Swedish language is of a beginner. I want to learn Swedish as I will be moving over to Uppsala, Sweden in November 2008 with my girlfriend. I need help all areas of the Sweish language. I'm willing to dedicate one session a week to learning the language, preferably evenings or the weekends. I feel I need a teacher who gives me confidence in speaking Swedish, particularly grammar aspects of the langauge.

I am a 25 year old beginner looking to pick up the basics of Swedish language and looking acquire sufficient proficiency in conversation to further enjoy my regular travels to Sweden and Scaninavia.
I hope to find a teacher who is friendly and motivating and able to teach me good basic Swedish with an emphasis on socialisation . In the future I hope to relocate to Scandinavia and would like to start my learning process well in advance of any potential move.

Hej Anneli!
Ja g heter Pete... A beginner but with personal and B2B requirements to learn Swedish (as a Sales Director in a Healthcare company with interests in a Sollentuna based company.) Used to work for a major Swedish Care company albeit UK based. Have visited Sweden on several occasions, mainly Stockholm but as English has always been the Company language attempts to try Swedish have been limited...not by personal choice!
Limited vocabulary to date, basic introductory phrases,order ing food and drinks etc.....(pron unciation a struggle at times!)but I reckon I have a reasonable affinity with linguistic disciplines and I am very interested in what more could be gained through formal instruction. My girlfriend is Swedish and particularly fluent in English which doesn't always help my attempts to converse but hopefully will be a real advantage for additional coaching! I am thinking of moving to Stockholm and an improvement in my Swedish will surely help the process!
A uditory only CD's haven't helped much...but I seem to be better at retaining dialogue when taken in conjunction with written prompts... I can probably manage a lesson once a week dependant on commitments as I tend to work away most of the time and my company is based in Aylesbury..
Qualities in a teacher...pat ience, sense of humour,abilit y to focus on and tell me what is needed to improve...and to tolerate occasional lapses in concentration and timekeeping!
Saw your details through a Google search..I live in Nottingham and am really interested in what you could do to help my Swedish...als o noticed that you've just updated your site so this could be good timing!
