Hello, I lived in Portugal for just over a year, and hope to move back there soon. I picked up a little of the language, however, living in the Algarve made it easy to continue to speak English. I did take some lessons (one to one tutoring) while I was there, but I need to build some confidence with the language, as well, of course, as vocabulary! I need to be able to converse with people at all levels as my partner's business attracts a lot of local customers as well as tourists, and obviously I need to be able to speak with authorities and services (eg Portugese Telecom, Financas, etc.) I'm not sure how long it is likely to take to reach this level of proficiency but I need to learn quickly. Can you help?

I formerly lived in Portugal as a child for 4 years, however as I attended an English speaking school, I never got a proper grasp on the language. Now at 21 years old, I have all but forgotten Portuguese. I would like to learn it as it has always frustrated me that I didn't properly learn the language. Knowledge of the language also presents good business opportunities in both Portugal and Brazil.
I would class myself as a beginner, all areas need improvement. I would probably want to use the lessons in conjunction with the Rosetta Stone package i have, but I am fairly open to suggestion. I would like to commit 2 hours per week at the least to language lessons.
I would like an interactive, enthusiastic tutor with possibly quite a flexible time-scale.

I hope to be moving to lisbon within the year, and have been learning only 3-4 months now with the use of books/cds
ho wever im really needing to advance my learning quicker if possible. the books/cds arent enough. I need someone who can explain things and answer my questions. Once i make the move I will be attending a learnign school in lisbon but for now i want to get in as much practice as I can. So far my reading is my strong point but i have little convidence in speaking or writing. I need someone to correct me and keep me right. Im willing to learn most nights for an hour or 2 if possible. having someone there to teach will keep me motivated and hopefully less iritated when im having difficulty understanding something.
A s im finding it hard to find many portuguese tutors loacally I cant be fussy, but anyone who has patience and doesnt mind me asking too many questions or having to explain things over
