I am a beginner in Arabic. I need to learn it to communicate with my boyfriend's family and also so I can begin reading the Qur'an/ahadit h in Arabic rather than English. I have taken a year of Arabic classes, so I would classify myself as a beginer with some experience.
I would like to learn Arabic because I am a journalism and political science major with ambitions of working in the Middle East.
I work a lot over summer but I could dedicate my evenings to my Arabic lessons.

I am a beginner. I am married to an Egyptian for 5 years now and feel it is time to finally learn his language and the language of his family. Therefore, I would like to concentrate on conversation but do not want to ignore grammer nor the written language. It is possible we'll move to Egypt within the next couple years and I'd like to be prepared if we do. In the meantime, I'd like to be able to converse with my in-laws by phone and to surprise my husband!
I 'm thinking one in-person lesson per week supplemented with teaching materials will be sufficient. I would keep this schedule until I gained a certain proficiency and then, perhaps, increase the frequency if it would help me learn faster.
