I work in and travel the Middle East extensively, recently focused in and around Saudi Arabia. Through my professional life I have developed a keen interest in the Middle East, Islam and the Arab World, and would like to develop my understanding further.
M y primary goal is to become conversationa l in Arabic, both Egyptian and Middle Eastern dialects, and progress to written Arabic when I am able....but one step at a time. I am looking to learn quickly, and continue until I am a competent speaker - no short courses in 'business' Arabic!
I am looking for one to one lessons with a native speaker, whose primary quality must be strong Arabic teaching skills. It would be beneficial to work with someone who is also able to discuss Arab culture and Islam with me in more depth, however this is no mandatory.

I am married to a man who is Egyptian and while I have been learning the language over the last year myself I want to find a teacher who can make me more proficient quicker. I would consider myself still a beginner but i have the ability to practice what i learn at home! I work in London (Covent Garden) and would like to find a tutor that could give me an hour's tuition every or every other week.
I want to predominantly concentrate on the verbal skill of speaking arabic rather than writing it, I need someone who can give me some simple methodology for learning and also vocabulary and grammar/slang that i would actually use in conversation.
