Description

I have been studying Chinese at Newcastle university for 2 years and i am about to complete a year studying at Shanghai Teachers University. I still have another year of study at Newcastle university before i graduate. My speaking and listening are intermediate standard but my characters are poor.

I am learning Mandarin with a view to possibly working in China after i graduate and also because my father is Chinese and before i started learning the language, i could not communicate with my grandparents.

I worry that i will forget much of what i have learnt in Shanghai when i return to UK. Therefore, practising conversationa l Mandarin is very important to me, however, the areas i need most improvement on are my characters and grammar structures.

There is a strong possibility i will be spending August and September in Newcastle, otherwise i will be living near Bradford over the summer. I will be returning to start my final year in Newcastle at the end of September. I would like to have at least 2 lessons a week over summer and 1 a week once i start again at Newcastle. Lessons should be at least an hour long.

I am particularly looking for a native Chinese speaker who has experience in teaching, preferably teaching foreigners Chinese and/or preparing them to take the HSK examination.
