Teaching approach: |
I'm a dynamic and flexible person. I try to maintain communicative and supportive atmosphere in the classroom where every student feels comfortable and appropriately challenged. I always try to respond to students' learning needs and consider their individual features. Du ring my classes I combine 4 basic skills- listening, writing, reading and speaking. New material is never given in the form of a lecture, yet grammar presentations are always clear and well-structur ed and supported by a lot of controlled and freer practice. The spoken language during classes is English only and I don't use translation as technique. |

It's both classical and modern. The most important thing when you learn a foreign language is to understand how it functions. That is called grammar and it is the main objective of the course. However, this is not meant for you to become a grammar expert. Also, we'll insist on vocabulary building, tests, conversation.
We'll combine theory and practice. Usually, the first part of the session is reserved for a homework discussion and the second part for the new lesson. We shall mainly use material in computer format. Also, the homework and tests will be submitted in DOC files and we'll exchange files by transferring them via Internet.

I propose to study Russian through Eglish paying attention to Russian grammar. We can't speak any language without grammar whether it is Russian or English. My approach contains many practical grammar exercises but how can we do exercises without vocabulary? ;) That's why you have to learn Russian vocaculary thoroughly. The result also depends on you. Besides working with a teacher there must be some home assignments. They are not gross but in any case they take some time. To summ up I can say that knowledge of language is a work both of a teacher and a learner. |
