THE FRENCH VERBS

French regular verbs are generally grouped in three classes or conjugations ending in "ER" (first class), "IR" (second class), and others like "RE", "IRE", "OIR" (third class).

                            VERBS ENDING IN "IR"   (second class)

Note:  Verbs ending in "IR" take generally "is", "is", "it" and "issons", "issez", "issent" when are conjugated with personal pronouns (subject).

Example:       je  I.......is                             nous  we.......issons

                     tu  you.......is                          vous  you........issez

              il / elle  he/she.......it                     ils / elles  they........issent

                                      FINIR    to end

                                               Indicative present

           Je finis    I end, or I am ending           nous finissons    we end, or we are ending

           tu finis    you (familiar) end, or ...       vous finissez    you (singular polite, or plural "you") end

    il / elle finit    he / she ends, or ...         ils / elles finissent  they (masculine/feminine) end, or ...

                              REMPLIR     to fill

                                     Indicative present

        je remplis     I fill, or I am filling         nous remplissons     we fill, or we are filling

        tu remplis    you (familiar) fill, or ...   vous remplissez     you (singular polite, or plural "you") fill

 il / elle remplit    he / she fills, or ...         ils / elles remplissent   they (masculine/feminine) fill, or ...
